Annapurna
Circuit Trek
The circuit of the Annapurna massif via the Manang valley
is one of the classic treks of the world. You will walk from
lowland rice paddies to the subtropical forest to the Tibetan
plateau between the Himalayan peaks and across the challenging
Thorung pass.
The
'Circuit' Trek
Driving from Kathmandu to Besi Sahar, we walk up the
lush Marsyangdi valley into the arid Manang valley,
greeted by ethnic Managii (Of Tibetan descend) in villages
and monasteries. There are stunning views of Glacier
Dome (7202m), Gangapurna (7454m) and Annapurna 2 (7940m).After
several false summits we reach the Thorung pass, the
highest point of our trek, marked by two large cairns
with flying prayer flags. We descend to the holy village
of Muktinath (3800m).

 |
Dazzling views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7689m) and
Annapurna 1 (8091m) are seen as we trek down the Kali Gandaki
valley, the deepest gorge in the world.
